When my husband and I first married 3 years ago, like most newlyweds, we were short on money. We bought our beautiful bed at Akins Furniture for half the price we saw it elsewhere – we wouldn’t have been able to afford it otherwise! Akins Furniture made it possible for us to own a very nice piece of furniture that will last as long as we do!

I cannot say enough good things about doing business with Akins Furniture.  My husband and I have purchased numerous items from them over the last few years.  Our first purchase from Akins was 5 years ago when we lived in Chattanooga and it was a traditional dining room suite.  Our friends and family were impressed when they saw it, and then they were more impressed when we told them how much we saved by shopping at Akins in Dogtown. 

Last year we moved to Fort Payne and we went straight to Akins Furniture to find furniture to fit the new house.  We worked with Kim Prestwood to find a master bedroom suite.  Kim suggested I look through the Akins website where I could click to view the offerings from all the manufacturers Akins does business with.  So in the comfort of my own home, I was able to see more selections than even Akins’ massive showroom could hold.  Linking to the manufacturers’ web sites from the Akins website gives you the ability to see great pictures of their products, the different finishes they offer, and check the dimensions of items you want.  Kim made some great suggestions and answered our questions regarding quality and delivery timelines.  When the furniture arrived, I was blown away by the size and beauty of the set.  It was perfect for our home, and my husband was very pleased with the quality.  I have to compliment the delivery guys, they had to bring that massive set upstairs and put it together.  They did it with incredible professionalism and took great care to protect newly painted walls and our new hardwood floors. 

We have since furnished our home office with desks and bookcases bought at Akins, and most recently I needed a unique table for my foyer.  Again, I used the Akins website and shopped for the right sized and shaped desk for the unusual angles of my foyer.  Kim was, as always, very helpful and knowledgeable.  I found exactly what I needed for the space and it is a beautiful focal point as people walk in the door.  The price was great, and delivery was quick and professional. 

I have already picked out our next purchase from Akins and am just waiting for the remodeling to be finished in the room where the furniture will go.  I will tell anyone looking for new furniture to check Akins first.  I’m not sure what’s best, the selections or the prices.  Regardless, it’s worth the effort to locate and visit Akins Furniture in the community of Dogtown, Alabama!

My friends and I drove to Dogtown to look for some furniture…I had never been!!! Boy, I didn’t know what I had been missing.  I was really going along to look and help my friends pick out their furniture.  I was the one with the big haul !!  I purchased a sofa, two tables, a sofa table, a beautiful dining room suite, and the most beautiful picture you have ever seen. 

We now drive there at least twice a year to look around and enjoy the beautiful scenery while we drive.

OH MY GOSH!!!!  Make the trip, take the drive it is soooooo worth it!  We had a wonderful experience with Akin.  We were building a house on the Georgia coast and looked and looked for the one company I wanted to deal with on the furnishings.  Akin was it!  Our salesperson, Kim, could not have been better.  Knowledgeable and helpful!  We purchased our entire home of furniture and Akin did the rest.  We sent directions, and the date we were moving in.  They showed up to deliver the furniture as promised.  NOT ONE HASSLE anywhere along the way!  The delivery people were nice and great to work with.  They did not leave until everything was where we wanted it.  This has been such a fabulous experience that I am now telling anyone and everyone who needs furniture to go to Akin.  Go fast and do not waste your time elsewhere!  We're glad we did!!!!

I made a visit to Akins Furniture looking for a living room suite.  This was my frist time there, I had always heard of the store, but due to the distance I'd had never went.  My fiance' and I drove up on a Saturday morning.  I was totally blow away with all the selection to choose from!  We were greeted by the sweetest, and most helpful man, by the name of Paul Swiney.  He took us down winding halls, and crooks and turns till we came into this huge room of all kinds of living room furniture.  At first I just stood amazed, looking around at all that was before me.  He told us to look around and he would be right back.  Never once did he try to push us into buying this or that.  When he returned we had found excactly what we were looking for.  He gathered the numbers from the sofa and 2 matching recliners and we headed back through the winding halls. Along the way I spotted 3 beautiful end tables I just had to have to accent my beautiful living room suite!  He collected these numbers also and away we went to his desk.  He wrote up all my findings, went and checked the warehouse to make sure they had everything for my delivery date 1-18-02 which was the following Friday. A sweet sounding lady named Melba called me on Thursday evening and told me a time to expect my delivery the next day.  They were there right on time!  I have never ever had such a smooth transaction of any kind before!!!!  It is definitely worth the drive from any where to go to Akins for any and all your furniture needs.  Prices are unbelieveable, selection is remarkable, service is best around and they stand behind what they sell!!

      Thank you, Akins Furniture.  I will always come back for all my furniture needs.
